Congratulations and well done to Rang a Dó who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week. This was a wonderful event which took place in our school halla. Many thanks to all who attended, participated and made this event so special for the children.
Grandparents Day 2019
Last Friday was a huge success and a sincere thank you must be given to the grandparents who made this day so special for everyone involved. Mr Kennelly extended a warm welcome to our wonderful Grandparents and also remembered those who are no longer with us. Many thanks to all who sent in the baked goods. Each class performed a selection of tunes, songs and poems to entertain our grandparents. They were blown away by all our students' talents here in Cregmore.
Renmore Garda visit
6th Class got an amazing opportunity to visit the new Garda Western District Headquarters in Renmore. We were kindly invited by Noel and Fiona Kelly and were given a grand tour of the wonderful new facilities available to An Garda Síochana. We got to visit the cells, the interview rooms and the Armed Response Unit spoke to us and explained their role in the force. We got to see some of the patrol cars and the Garda Dog Unit in action. The boys and girls had great fun in the cells and looking through one way privacy rooms.
Galway Cathedral visit
Fr Peter Rabbitte of The Galway Cathedral kindly gave 6th class a guided tour of this wonderful church and gave us a lot of information and history on the building and on its significance to the city. It really is an impressive building and we also had the opportunity to visit the underground Crypt where the remains former Bishops of Galway lie. It was in fact a former jail for the city!
